With the demands from government regulation for
e-mail and document retention policies and the need for
better disaster recovery and business continuity plans
following the wake of the natural disasters of 2005 and
9/11, storage needs have exploded. Tape has proven to be
a very unreliable solution for backup, but is still a
good answer for long term archival. Storage Area Network
(SAN) vendors have developed solutions to address these
backup, disaster recovery and information lifecycle
management (ILM) issues. However, the traditional
storage vendors; EMC, NetApp, IBM, and HDS have failed
to deliver cost-effective solutions for the mid-market.
This has opened the door for a group of new players
specifically focused on the mid-market, bringing
innovative enterprise class functionality in
configurations more suitable to the size and budgets of
our clients.
Our Partners
LeftHand Networks
LeftHand provides exceptional value for those companies who
are most concerned with disaster recovery and avoidance. Their
grid storage technology has been widely acclaimed by the
industry for its reliability, scalability and robustness.
Using low cost storage nodes, LeftHand offers the ability to
start small and inexpensively and then pay as you grow.
Compellent
Compellent is
architected for those companies who need higher
performance storage and are very interested in long-term
archival and tiered storage to support their ILM strategy.
Their Data Progression software is the industry leader for
automatically addressing your total cost of storage by moving
older data to low cost tiers, drastically reducing your data
administration cost and capital costs.
StoreVault by NetApp
The
StoreVault S500 is a new integrated SAN platform designed
specifically for the small business market. It utilizes the
core software developed by NetApp, the world leader in NAS and
SAN platforms for large businesses, to deliver a reasonably
sophisticated feature set at prices starting below $5,000. This
is the ideal product for the small company needing to consolidate
their storage, but who may not need the robustness of the more fully
featured storage platforms.
Spectalogic
SpectraLogic
is the leader in IP addressable Tape Libraries.
They have a small iSCSI tape library suited for the mid-market
as well as enterprise backup to disk and tape solutions. We
believe they are a perfect fit for our reference architecture
where tape becomes one of the means for long-term archival.
